Welcome to the Doctoral Schools on Basic MRI Physics 2024

This page contains a list of mathematical and physics concepts utilized by the Doctoral Schools on Basic MRI. Going through this list is without obligation, but knowledge of these topics is strongly recommended to be able to follow the sessions smoothly.

Each topic contains videos with theoretical explanation and often an interactive demo for illustration purposes. The videos elaborate on a topic in a intuitive way without using lots of mathematics. The demos aim at illustrating interactively the concepts explained in the videos. The pages are order chronologically but you are free to skip already acquired knowledge.

Most demos are hosted by the Wolfram Demonstrations Project. They work in the browser but they take some time to load and run slowly. To speed up performance, we suggest to install the Wolfram Player on your computer and download and run the demos offline.

The Wolfram demos can be downloaded in two ways:

  • click on the title of the demo to browse to the main website and click Download to Desktop
  • click on the stacked dashes icon below the demo and select Download
You can run the demo with the Wolfram Player by doubleclicking on the file. If a demo is not visible, the author disabled embedding so just click the link to redirect to the original webpage.

An important remark: don't panic if you do not understand something. The videos often give more information than needed.
